This is an original etching that I did many years ago . I've dug it out, scanned and coloured it (using Photoshop, but trying to emulate the effect of hand-tinting the plate before printing). I think the sheep turned out well!

Ever wonder what slippers a bunny would wear? This one's slightly annoyed - there had better be some hot water left!

I had one of those weird thoughts last night as I was drifting off to sleep. I was thinking about gestures and facial expressions, and how humans miss out on a potential area of communication, because we can't move our ears. Think about cats, and other animals; how they can show fear, anger, contentment, alertness, etc., just by the set of their ears.

So today I came up with the above device. Pure silliness, but fun to do. I'm trusting that clicking on the image will take you to a legible version (by clicking again - the word 'original').

Why do I have a kiwi on my head? Well, I'm from New Zealand, and a kiwi seemed to me to be something I could use to indicate that. Because New Zealanders call themselves Kiwis.

What I want to know is, how did that kiwi get up there? Kiwis can't fly.

p.s. Real kiwis aren't blue either!

I'm probably too late to the party with this one - figuring out which time zone's which - but here's my first attempt at an Illustration Friday topic. This week's was 'Run'.

I like drawing. And I like drawing comics. But I like procrastinating too.

I'm hoping this blog will be that nagging person, looking over your shoulder, and saying, are you getting on with your work? Are you going to finish what you started?

Of course, I have here a marvelous tool for procrastination...

And, looking at the quick sketch above, I also have terrible posture. That's not really me above, but it's the way I draw, clutching my pencil in my left fist. If I needed to punch something, I could do it without letting go of my drawing implement. There's multi-tasking for you.
